Reflecting upon the year as 2011 comes to a close.

This was a great year for me, probably one of the best. There were a lot of big changes, but these changes were good for me.

I can’t say my year was entirely perfect. I’ve had my fair share of crappy days—crappy months, even. But the way I see it, my hardships just made my skin a little thicker. I learned some lessons (even if I had to learn them the hard way, it was a good thing in the long run).

Moving to California has made me the happiest I’ve been in a long time. At first, I thought it’d be hard. Leaving was especially difficult. But once I got up and actually left, things seemed to go naturally for me. I guess that’s just a part of life. Eventually, we have to say good bye and move on. Of course, I still miss my old friends back in New Hampshire, but I know that it won’t be the last time I’ll be seeing them.

I don’t know if it’s just extra endorphins from all the sunshine, or if my life is just becoming better. I think it’s a bit of both. I’m more social, more talkative, more ambitious, and more optimistic. All in all, I’m just starting to become more of the person I’d like to be.
